Betty Lou (White) Lofland of Herrick, Illinois died Monday, October 28, 2024 at 4:13 PM at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, Illinois. Funeral Services will be Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM in First Christian Church, Herrick, Illinois with Pastor Paul Dickerson officiating. Visitation will also be Saturday, November 2, 2024 in First Christian Church, Herrick beginning at 9:00 AM until time of Service. Burial will be in Blankenship Cemetery, Fayette County, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Herrick Food Pantry. Betty Lou (White) Lofland was born Wednesday, December 13, 1944 in Todds Point Township, Shelby County, Illinois the daughter of Everett and Ivadean (maiden name Beck) White. She was raised in Herrick by her Grandma and attended school there. Betty Lou White married Patrick Dwain Lofland in the Shelby County Courthouse on June 15, 1960, and he died October 8, 2001. Betty Lou (White) Lofland attended Mr. John’s School of Cosmetology and held a Beauty and Hairdressing License for 40 years. She had been a cashier, bartender, and beautician who loved taking care and helping anyone in need. For hobbies, she loved gardening, feeding her hummingbirds, hunting deer, Ginseng, hunting mushrooms, and just being in the woods. She was also a member of First Christian Church, Herrick for all her life. Betty Lou (White) Lofland is survived by her Daughters: Angie Yarnell (David) of Bethany, Illinois and Valerie Lawrence (Matt) of LaPlace, Illinois; Sons: Mike Lofland (Miranda) of Bethany, Illinois and Joshua Lofland of Herrick; Granddaughters: Christina Devore (Ryan) of Sullivan, Illinois; Nicole Lofland and Jennifer Lofland, both of Bethany, Illinois; Grandsons: Matthew Yarnell (Jessy) of Livonia, Missouri; and Corey Elder and Jacob Lawrence (Kelsey), both of Sullivan, Illinois; Step-Grandchildren: Jon Lawrence (Amy) of Sullivan, Illinois, Jeramy Lawrence (Danielle) of Mattoon, Illinois; and Courtney Lawrence (Zach Matherly) of LaPlace, Illinois; eleven Great-Grandchildren as well as several Nieces and Nephews; Brother: Floyd White (Roberta) of Herrick, Illinois; Sisters: Joyce Corley of Tower Hill, Illinois and Shirley White Carmen; and Half-Brother: Clifford Wayne Beck of Plainfield, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Son: Randy Leroy Lofland who died in 1986, Grandson: Andrew Yarnell who died in 2017, 4 Brothers: John White, Raymond White, and two who died in infancy; and one Sister who died in infancy.
