Ivan Hartlieb

92 year old, Ivan A. Hartlieb of Pana, Illinois died Friday, April 23, at 7:40 AM in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart School, Pana, Illinois and Pana Community Hospital. Ivan A. Hartlieb was born Saturday, January 19, 1918 in Witt, Illinois the son of Amel and Amanda (Klein) Hartlieb. He spent his youth in Witt, attending Witt Elementary School and graduating from Witt High School in the Class of 1938. He was united in marriage on October 11, 1941 to Mildred R. Matli in St. Raymond Catholic Church in Raymond, Illinois. He was member of St Patrick's Catholic Church of Pana for 69 years. Ivan worked at Montgomery Ward in Pana for 26 years, in the parts department at Mallory’s for 9 years, and in the parts department of Brunner’s Auto Supply until his retirement. Mechanically inclined, he enjoyed creating unique inventions. Some of his hobbies included playing cards, fishing, gardening, cracking walnuts and hickory nuts and above all else, life and spending time with family and friends. The family and friends have so many fond and enjoyable memories and he will be deeply missed.
