81 year old, Robert "Bob" Deere of Pana Illinois died Thursday, January 8, at 8:52 PM at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, Illinois. Funeral services will be, Tuesday, January 13 at 11:00 AM at St Patrick's Church, Pana, Illinois, with Fr. Rodney A. Schwartz and Fr. Joseph Havrilka officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 AM until the hour of service at 11:00, Tuesday, January 13 at St Patrick's Church, Pana, Illinois. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Pana Education Foundation. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Pana Township, Christian County, Illinois. Robert "Bob" Deere was born Thursday, September 28, 1933, in Pana, Illinois the son of Bert W. and Lourene (maiden name Rust) Deere. He was reared in Pana attending Pana Schools. He was a graduate of Pana Township High School class of 1951. Bob earned a bachelor degree at University of Illinois Champaign in 1955, and a Bachelors degree from Millikin University, Decatur in 1964. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Kathleen M Chase and Robert Deere were united in marriage on June 11, 1955, in St Patrick's Church Pana, Illinois. Kathleen preceded him in death on March 27, 1992. Mr. Deere was an elementary school teacher for 34 years teaching in Newton, Oconee, and retiring from teaching in Pana Illinois. He was a lifelong member of St Patrick's Catholic Church, a member of IEA/NEA, Christian County Retired Teachers, Pana Knights of Columbus, St. Patrick's Church Adult Choir, and the Pana Heritage Guild.
